How can I change the amino acid numbering of a translated feature?
Edit the Translated Feature
In this example a CDS feature represents the C-terminal fragment of the Cas9 protein. We will adjust the default +1 start coordinate of the translated product to +574 to match the numbering of the full-length Cas9 protein.

Open or create a sequence with an appropriate translated CDS feature.
Double-click on the feature to open the Edit Feature dialog.
Open the Feature Translation Options Dialog

Click the Feature Translation Options... button.
Adjust the Feature Translation Numbering

Edit the translation start coordinate to the appropriate value.

In this example, the feature translation numbering now starts at amino acid 574.
Adjust the Translation Numbering of a Segmented Feature
In this example, EGFP has three segments, segment 2 represents a single codon (Val) insertion compared to wild-type GFP. We will adjust the translated product numbering of segment 3 to start at position +2 to match the numbering of wild-type GFP.

To adjust the translation numbering, double-click on the feature to open the Edit Feature dialog.

The second segment consists of a single amino acid, Val-1a, which is not present in the wild-type GFP. To turn off the numbering for this second segment, click the Feature Translation Options... button.

Select "Skip this segment" to omit numbering for Segment 2.
Edit segment 3: to set the "Start at" number to +2.

The feature translation numbering now skips the second segment and restarts numbering at +2 for the third segment.
