How can I create a feature that will be translated in Sequence view?
Select the Translated Sequence Region
Select the sequence region that will be annotated with a translated feature.
If the coding sequence is in the forward orientation, then the first position should correspond to position 1 of the first codon.
If the coding sequence is in the reverse orientation, then the last position should correspond to position 1 of the first codon.

Add a Feature
To add a feature, click menu Features → Add Feature... .

Name the Feature
Type a name for the new feature.

Turn on Translation and Set Translation Options
1). To turn on translation, either click the check box, or set the feature Type to "CDS" (coding sequence).
2). Specify the directionality of translation as either forward (top strand) or reverse (bottom strand).
3). Click "Feature Translation Options" to change the reading frame, genetic code or translation numbering, or to ensure that a non-ATG start codon is translated as methionine.
4). Click the color swatch to choose a feature color.

Enter a Name for the Gene Product

Enter a name for the gene product in the "/product" qualifier field.
If required, use the dropdown and choose "/note" if you want to add additional information as a note qualifier, or use the dropdown to add other qualifiers.
Click OK to add the new translated feature to your sequence. Save to permanently add the feature to your sequence.
View the New Translated Feature
The translated feature and the amino acid sequence of the protein will be displayed in Sequence view.
Mouse over the feature to see feature information as a Tooltip.
