How can I designate part of a feature on a nucleotide sequence as a segment?
Open a Sequence with a Feature
Create a feature, or open a sequence with an existing feature.
In Sequence view, select the region of sequence that represents the new segment.
Create a Feature Segment
To create a feature segment, select the feature, then click Features → Create Feature Segment....
The new segment will be added to the largest overlapping feature.
Name and Color the Segments
Name the new segments if desired.
Click on a color swatch to choose a different color for a segment if desired.
Click OK to make the changes.
View the New Segments
View the new segments in Map or Sequence view.
Save to keep the changes.
