View Options for Protein Sequences

How do I change the way proteins are displayed in SnapGene?

You can use the toolbars or click  View → Map & Sequence Options...

Use the Map Toolbars

Use the side toolbar buttons to change how your protein sequence and associated features are displayed. Some side toolbar options are specific to Map view or Sequence view.

Use the following links to learn more about each Toolbar option:

  1. Show "Region" Features: see Show or Hide Protein Features.
  2. Show "Site" and "Het" Features: see Show or Hide Protein Features.
  3. Show "Bond" Features: see Show or Hide Protein Features.
  4. Show Colors: see Show, Hide or Set Protein Colors.
  5. Show Translation numbering: - Show or Hide Protein Feature Numbering in Map View.
  6. Split Content: see View a Sequence with a Split Window.
  7. Display: Access all options.

Use the Sequence View Toolbars

  1. Show "Region" Features: see Show or Hide Protein Features.
  2. Show "Site" and "Het" Features: see Show or Hide Protein Features.
  3. Show "Bond" Features: see Show or Hide Protein Features.See – Change the Protein Sequence Line Width.
  4. Show Colors: see Show or Hide Protein Colors.
  5. Split Content: see View a Sequence with a Split Window.
  6. Wrap to window: see Change the Protein Sequence Line Width.
  7. Fixed line width: see Change the Protein Sequence Line Width.
  8. Display menu: Use an Alternative format: see – Show a Protein Sequence in Compact Format.
  9. Display menu: Use 1/3-Letter Amino Acid Codes see – Display a Protein Sequence with One or Three Letter Amino Acid Codes.
  10. Display menu:  Show Minimap: see – Show or Hide a Protein Minimap in Sequence View.
  11. Display: Access all options.
