
SnapGene requires an internet connection in order to activate SnapGene with a legacy registration code, or activate via Email Sign in.
The error "You're offline. Please connect to the internet to enable all activation options." indicates that SnapGene version 8.0 or later is unable to connect to our website.
There are three likely reasons for the problem:
- Check you have an active internet connection.
- This error may be due to use of a local proxy server. If you are on a Windows computer then make sure that you can access www.snapgene.com using the Microsoft Edge browser (it must not any other browser). If you are on a Mac, check your proxy server settings. You should enlist the help of your IT personnel if required to adjust your proxy settings.
- If you are running a firewall, it must be configured to allow the SnapGene application to contact port 443 at *.snapgene.com. You can temporarily disable your firewall in order to register, and/or to test if the firewall settings are the cause of the error. If you do not have access to configure your firewall you may need to contact your IT personnel.
