How do I activate SnapGene with a Registration key?
Older SnapGene licenses were provided as a 20 character alphanumeric registration key with the format:
####-####-####-####-####.
The instructions provided in this article are for a registration key license.
If your license is an user-based Email Sign-In license then see the instructions found here – Download, Install, and Activate SnapGene.
Confirm the version of SnapGene you are using (see What version of SnapGene am I using?) and expand the appropriate section below for instructions.
SnapGene 8.0 and Later
Start SnapGene and click the Activate button in the bottom bar.
In the dialog that opens, click the Registration Code button.
In the Activation dialog, enter your name, email address, and paste in the copied "Registration Code".
Click OK to start using SnapGene.
SnapGene 7.2.1 or Earlier
At start up, an unregistered copy of SnapGene will show the registration dialog.
In the registration dialog enter your name, email address, license "Group Name", and paste in the copied "Registration Code".
Click Register to start using SnapGene.
