How do I change the default display sequence traces (chromatograms)?
Open Preferences
Click SnapGene → Preferences (macOS) or Edit → Preferences (Windows or Linux), and select "Traces & Alignment" in the sidebar.
Autoscale the heights or sequence traces by default. When this option is unchecked peaks will be shown in standard (unscaled) format.
"Use Linear view for sequence traces". When this option is unchecked by default traces will be shown in "wrapped" mode.
"Show Bases Above": Use the dropdown to show base calls above or below the peaks.
The marked options change the way peaks are displayed. Change the options to see how it changes the example chromatogram in the preferences window.
"Include raw tab". When checked this option will show the raw (unprocessed) trace data in an additional tab in the trace file window.
