How do I hide or show the Info panel when a file is imported?
Open Preferences
Click SnapGene → Preferences (macOS) or Edit → Preferences (Windows or Linux). If necessary, select "General" in the sidebar.
Check or uncheck the option to "Show the Info panel by default".
Use the drop-down to apply the setting to "imported files" or "all files".
Alternatively, click the Preferences button in the top toolbar (SnapGene 8.1 or later) and choose Preferences.
Import or Open a File
When this Preferences option is checked and you import a file, the "Info" button in the Top Toolbar will be highlighted and the Info panel will be displayed.
