How do I configure Dark Mode and the background color in SnapGene?
SnapGene 6.1 and later are able to display in "Dark Mode".
Open Preferences
Click menu SnapGene → Preferences (macOS) or Edit → Preferences (Windows or Linux). Select "General" in the sidebar.

Alternatively, click the Cog button in the top toolbar (SnapGene 8.1 or later) and choose Appearance.

Set the SnapGene Appearance
Click the "Appearance" drop down menu and choose between:
-
System - Choose this option to have SnapGene conform to your operating system (OS) Dark Mode settings. This is the default option.
- macOS - see How to Use Dark Mode on your Mac
- Windows - see Change Colors in Windows.
- Light - Run SnapGene in "light" mode regardless of the OS dark mode settings.
- Dark - Run SnapGene in "Dark" mode regardless of the OS dark mode settings.

Click the "Background" dropdown menu to choose from a range of colors suited to Dark or Light mode, or click "More Colors..." to set a custom color.

Continue your work in SnapGene Dark Mode.
