How do I create a protein sequence in SnapGene?
Open the New Protein Window
Click File → New Protein File.
Alternatively, Click the + symbol on the tab bar. Then, in the new sequence window click the + protein file button.
Type or Paste a Protein Sequence
- If required, set the "Sequence Type" to "New protein File".
- Paste a raw sequence (amino acids + stop codons only), or paste the text of a formatted sequence (Fasta, GenPept/UniProt or GCG format).
- Enter a name for the new protein sequence.
Click Create to create a new protein file.
Save the New Sequence
Click File → Save to save the new sequence to an appropriate location on your computer.
