How do I prevent labels for Region features and other range features from being displayed above the line in a protein map?
When Region labels are crowded, SnapGene may display some of them above the protein map. You can force all Region labels to be placed below the map or hidden if necessary.
Open Preferences
Click SnapGene → Preferences (macOS) or Edit → Preferences (Windows or Linux), and select "Proteins" in the sidebar.
Uncheck the box that controls whether labels for "Region" features and other range features are allowed above a protein map.
Feature labels that do not fit below the map will now be hidden. To see more feature labels, you can reduce the font size or enlarge the SnapGene window.
Note that this setting applies to both new and existing protein sequence files.
