The following instructions should be used by permanent license holders running SnapGene 4.1.9 or earlier. For users of SnapGene version 4.3 or later see How do I get "About" Information for the SnapGene Support Team?
The SnapGene support team may request you generate and provide information to assist with diagnosing issues when activating SnapGene with a legacy registration code.
To generate "machine information" for the support team do the following:
- Start SnapGene.
- In the Registration window, type
machineinformation(all one word, no space). - A "Machine Information" window will open.
- Click within the bottom text field, then type CTRL – a (Windows or Linux) or, command – a (macOS), to select all text in the field.
- Type CTRL – c (Windows or Linux) or command – c (macOS) to copy the selected text to the clipboard.
- Paste the copied text into your reply to the SnapGene support team.
