For some issues the SnapGene support team may request you generate and provide information via the Command Prompt to assist with diagnosis of technical issues, as detailed below.
Windows
Run the Command Prompt
In Windows Explorer, search for "command" and then hit return to run the "Command Prompt" application.
Run the "About" command
Copy the following command and paste it into the Command Prompt window (all one line) and hit return to generate "About" information.
"C:\Program Files\SnapGene\SnapGene.exe" -aboutCopy the "About" Output
Click and drag within the "Command Prompt": window to select and copy the output generated by the command.
macOS
Run the Terminal
In Terminal, type command-space and search for Terminal, hit return to open the Terminal application.
Run the "About" Command
Copy the following command and paste it into the Terminal window (all one line) and hit return to generate "About" information.
/Applications/SnapGene.app/Contents/MacOS/SnapGene -aboutCopy the "About" Output
Click and drag within the Terminal window to select and copy the output generated by the "-about" command.
Send Support the "About" Output
Paste the copied output into your email reply to the support team so that they can assist further with your issue.
