How do I search and import a sequence from Bioregister based on Bioregister ID or Name?
Search a Sequence
Log in to your Bioregister account before registering an entity as described in Authenticate with Dotmatics Bioregister.
Note, to use search your Bioregister version must be 6.1.0 or later.
Click File → Import → Dotmatics Bioregister Sequences to search for a sequence.
Alternatively, on the SnapGene top toolbar click Import → Dotmatics Bioregister Sequences.
Make sure Search Dotmatics Bioregister for ID or Name is selected. Start entering a keyword in the Name or Bioregister ID field and SnapGene will begin searching for a corresponding sequence in Bioregister.

Note, Bioregister search is case-insensitive.
The system displays a sequence if provided search input is part of the Bioregister sequence name or Bioregister ID. Please note, that a broad search in a large Bioregister database may take some time to complete.
Select one or more sequences of interest by selecting each checkbox.
Select Open and click on the Import button to import and open the selected sequences in SnapGene.
The Accession Number field in the Description Panel will contain the Bioregister ID. Please note, that the standard Accession Number link points to the NCBI database and not Dotmatics Bioregister.
Alternatively, click Save and click on the Import button to save a sequence to disk. The system will ask to select an appropriate location to save the files.
