How do I use advanced menu commands in SnapGene?
Some SnapGene menus provide hidden advanced options. Hold down the option (macOS) or ALT (windows and Ubuntu) and click on menus to see and use the advanced menu commands.
File Menu
Advanced menu options:
- Close All Tabs Without Saving
- Close All Windows Without Saving
Edit Menu
Advanced menu options:
- Copy Top Strand as RNA
- Copy Bottom Strand as RNA
- Copy Transparent Map (copies map as vector-based graphic for pasting into compatible software)
- Delete Bases and Skip Warnings (if you select a feature and hold down the option key and choose this menu option [or hit delete], then the feature and it's corresponding sequence will be deleted without a warning)
Features Menu
Advanced menu options:
- Detect Common Features in the Selection (requires that you select a region of 6 pm or more first. Features will only be detected, if present, in the selected region)
Primers Menu
Advanced menu options:
- Add Copied Primers (this command will detect and add multiple matching primers that have been copied to the clipboard from Excel, or as comma- or tab-separated text)
