In 2026 Apple announced that macOS Tahoe (macOS 26) will be the last macOS operating system that will run on Intel-x86-based Macs.
Also, support for Rosetta, which allows apps made for Intel x86 to run on Apple Silicon Macs, will end with the release of macOS 28 in late 2027. For more information see https://support.apple.com/en-nz/102527.
