SnapGene 6.0.2 - 6.0.4: Issues with History after Cloning Operations

Updated May 20, 2022

Recent reports from users identified a bug in SnapGene release 6.0.2 or 6.0.3, and in limited cases, 6.0.4 which cause corruption and incorrect display of History information after cloning operations. This bug may also prevent trimming or deletion of History information.

We recommend all users of SnapGene 6.0.x who encounter this issue upgrade to the recently released SnapGene 6.0.5.

Note that SnapGene 6.0.5 will fix History display issues for files created via cloning operations in SnapGene 6.0.2 to 6.0.4. However, embedded ancestral files may not be restored. If embedded History ancestors are required then you should repeat the cloning operation in SnapGene 6.0.5 using the original input files.
